Introduction Implementation of Curriculum for Excellence and the development of new National Qualifications presented a timely opportunity to revise the way computing science is taught in schools and to provide a more interesting, up-to-date and engaging experience for both tutors and learners. This resource has been developed by the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) and the BCS Academy of Computing to support a subset of the Information Systems Design & Development unit of Scottish National 4 Computing Science. It will seek to consolidate learners' understanding of modern Information Systems concepts, through study of web technologies, including HTML. Development All of the RSE/BCS's resources build on state-of-the-art understanding of the pedagogy of Computing, drawn from around the world. This should enable learners to develop both coding skills and deep understanding of core Computing concepts, including computational thinking (see overleaf). Whilst this resource is intended to support tutors' thinking about how they might translate the intentions of the curriculum into classroom activity, it should not be seen as prescriptive. Rather, it is intended to stimulate innovation and offer tutors the flexibility and opportunity to deploy their creativity and skills in meeting the needs of learners.

Information Technology (IT) is the study of systems especially computers for storing, retrieving, and sending information. It uses any networking and other physical devices, infrastructures to secure and exchange all forms of electronic data. IT is used globally as a major portion of daily life and we use it nearly every day within organizations for many reasons. Our computers, mobile phones an...
متن کاملTLScompare: Crowdsourcing Rules for HTTPS Everywhere
For billions of users, today’s Internet has become a critical infrastructure for information retrieval, social interaction and online commerce. However, in recent years research has shown that mechanisms to increase security and privacy like HTTPS are seldomly employed by default. With the exception of some notable key players like Google or Facebook, the transition to protecting not only sensi...
متن کاملData-Race Detection in Transactions- Everywhere Parallel Programming
This thesis studies how to perform dynamic data-race detection in programs using “transactions everywhere”, a new methodology for shared-memory parallel programming. Since the conventional definition of a data race does not make sense in the transactions-everywhere methodology, this thesis develops a new definition based on a weak assumption about the correctness of the target program’s paralle...

Location Based Services (LBS) has become an important field of research with the rapid development of Internet-based Information Technology (IOT) technology and everywhere we use smartphones and social networks in our everyday lives. Although users can enjoy the flexibility, facility, facility and location-based services (LBS) with the Internet of Things, they may lose their privacy. An untrust...
متن کاملApparent Entropy of Cellular Automata
A radius-r one-dimensional cellular automaton (CA) is an infinite sequence of identical finite-state machines (indexed by Ÿ) called cells. Each finite-state machine is in a state and these states change simultaneously according to a local transition function: the following state of the machine is related to its own state as well as the states of its 2r neighbors. A configuration of an automaton...
